Skinoren Cream is used to treat all stages of common acne (acne vulgaris). Azelaic acid attacks the bacteria, Propionibacterium acnes that play an essential part in causing acne. Skinoren also reduces growth of the keratin surface cells that block the pores of the skin to cause blackheads and whiteheads.
Azelaic acid is used in treating mild to moderate acne. [Severe acne should be treated under the care of a dermatologist.] Skinoren works by suppressing the growth of the bacteria that cause acne and also be keeping the pores unblocked. It also has an anti-inflammatory action and may be useful in treating rosacea. Azelaic acid does not reduce the formation of oil and therefore does not dry out the skin.
Skinoren helps keep the pores of the skin clear and unblocked and is useful in helping to reduce the formation of whiteheads and blackheads.
