What is TELNASE used for?
TELNASE contains a corticosteroid (They are not "anabolic steroids" which are the steroids sometimes misused by athletes) and is used to treat seasonal allergic rhinitis (hayfever) and perennial allergic rhinitis.
Hayfever produces symptoms such as sneezing, itching and runny nose. Sometimes you can get these symptoms all year long and this is called perennial allergic rhinitis. It is often caused by dust mites or hair from a cat or dog.
TELNASE helps to prevent and treat allergic rhinitis (including hay fever) and related conditions. Allergic rhinitis includes symptoms such as an itchy sensation in the nose, throat and eyes, followed by sneezing, stuffiness, runny nose and often watery eyes.
TELNASE works by reducing the swelling and irritation in the lining of the nose. It relieves the symptoms of blocked nose, runny nose, itchy nose and sneezing.
It usually takes a few days for this medicine to help your nasal symptoms.
You may know that you are going to be allergic to, for example, pollen at a particular time of year. It is helpful to start using your spray just before your symptoms appear, to prevent them from starting. If you already have symptoms, improvement in your condition will take a few days.
If you have itchy eyes, tell your doctor or pharmacist. They may tell you to use additional medicine to treat your eye symptoms.
Before you use TELNASE:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist:
-
the names of any other medicines you are already taking including those you buy without a prescription from a pharmacy, supermarket or health food shop.
