Caring for the Prostate Gland
Clinicians Men's Hormone Support supports healthy prostate function and sex hormone levels.
It's almost inevitable that a man will suffer from at least some issues with his prostate gland in his lifetime, especially as he ages. Starting at around 30 years of age prostate gland enlargement is seen in some men and by age 50 around half of all men will have some issues. By age 80 some 75% of men will be experiencing symptoms.
Symptoms may include a weak stream of urine, frequent need to urinate, some difficulty starting urination, stopping and starting during urination and dribbling after urination. Medically known as Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (occasionally called Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy) the prostate gland enlarges and restricts the flow of urine. It is not considered to be a pre-cancerous condition. If you have any of these symptoms you would be wise to see your doctor for advice.
There is an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase that is responsible for metabolising steroids. Unfortunately this enzyme converts the male hormone testosterone, a steroid to a form that causes enlargement of the prostate. This testosterone derivative, dihydrotestosterone has been associated with enlarged prostate growth and male pattern baldness. Inhibiting this enzyme is the target of both pharmaceutical and herbal treatments.
Clinicians Men's Hormone Support contains herbs that target the inhibition of 5-alpha-reductase to support healthy prostate function.
