Lyprinol is a patented, stabilised natural marine lipid extract isolated from the New Zealand green-lipped mussel (Perna canaliculus)

Never-ending curiosity has driven mankind to make some wonderful scientific advances. Attempts at improving on nature often are flawed but the makers of Lyprinol have turned out to be on to a good thing when they discovered the active component in the New Zealand Green Lipped Mussel.

It was noted that coastal Maori didn't suffer from arthritis but the same could not be said for their inland cousins. The diet of of those living on the coast was high in Green Lipped Mussel and had a reputation for promoting good joint health.

Naturally scientists were interested in finding out what compound was responsible for this property and began the process of analysing Perna canaliculus, the green lipped mussel. Eventually after a great deal of work they isolated the active fraction of biological material that worked to reduce the inflammatory response in cells.

Using a patented, chemical free extraction process the isolated and potent fraction of green lipped mussel is available and marketed as Lyprinol. It has anti-inflammatory properties and may be useful in conditions where inflammation is present. Those with inflamed joints have found Lyprinol to be supportive in reducing pain and inflammation and promoting joint mobility. Asthma, now understood to be an inflammatory condition of the lungs may also be benefited by Lyprinol.
