The sugar, D-Mannose is used to treat acute urinary tract infections and also helps prevent re-infection in those prone to frequent infections. It is a safe and effective treatment against E. coli, the bacteria responsible for more than 90% of urinary tract infections.

D-Mannose is great to have on hand when the first signs of urinary tract infection are noticed. Stinging and burning on urination and a frequent desire to go are all signs thats that bacteria are colonising and an infection is developing. Usually frequent two hour dosing with D-Mannose clears infections inside 48 hours.

Some individuals are predisposed to frequent infections. It's not their fault, it's just the way their urinary tract is physically structured and they have difficulty fully clearing all urine from the bladder. If even a small amount of E. coli bacteria remain it can set up a new infection.

The beauty of this kind of treatment is that the bacteria would rather bind to D-Mannose than the urinary tract wall as it passes through the urine . No bacteria are killed, they are merely detached from the urinary tract wall and are attached to D-Mannose as it clears the body. It is a simple and effective treatment provided by nature.

The dose required to keep an individual clear of infections varies from individual to individual which is why we recommend our clients experiment with the dosage. Some only need a dose every 2nd or 3rd day while others may need to use it several times a day.

The best way to figure out what dosage works effectively is to start when the urinary tract is clear of infection and start out with a dosage regime of three times a day. If three days pass without any sign of infection drop down to a twice a day dosage for a further three days. Still no infection? Then try once a day and continue for 2 weeks. If no infection in that time you may want to consider a single daily dose or experiment further with a dose every second day. At any stage if a sign of infection occurs bump the dose straight back up to multiple doses until clear before resuming the dosage regime that worked for you.
